5 Star Status for Highland Chocolatier

The Highland Chocolatier, one of Scotland's most celebrated artisan chocolate destinations, has today been awarded the prestigious Five Star rating by the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions — the national benchmark for visitor experiences.
Nestled beside the River Tay and positioned in the heart of Scotland, the family run business has been meticulously developing the experience for over 20 years. The five-star rating adds to a distinguished record of industry recognition.   The recipient of over 90 national and international awards, the Highland Chocolatier has previously been recognised as the Best Food & Drink Attraction in Scotland at the Excellence Awards.

Positioned just off the A9, it is one of the most accessible highland destinations, within easy striking distance of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, and Dundee.  It has long been considered a hidden gem by those who discover it — and now that reputation has been formally recognised on a national stage.  A destination in its own right, it is exactly the kind of experience that makes a rainy Scottish day something to look forward to rather than endure.

The incognito judges were struck by the warmth of the team and elegance of the premises from the moment they arrived.  They noted the inviting atmosphere of the Chocolate Lounge, the magical Chocolate Shop and Chocolate Exhibition.  However the high point and most memorable part of the experience was the recently developed Guided Chocolate Tasting Flight.  The flights take guests on a fun yet carefully curated journey through flavour, origin, and craft. Each session is either personally guided by a Chocolate Master or — for visitors exploring at their own pace — accompanied by an audio guide narrated by the Master Chocolatier, also available in German, Spanish, Mandarin, and French.

"The 5 Star grading is an enormous accomplishment by our team," Master Chocolatier Iain Burnett says of the Award. "From my mother designing the entrance garden, to caring local staff meeting you at the door, to developing world class chocolate recipes over two decades, we have poured everything into creating an experience that goes far beyond buying a delicious box of chocolates. The Guided Tastingare the truest expression of what we do — and having that recognised as the highest level of visitor experience available in Scotland is something our entire team is incredibly proud of."

Whether visitors are locals making a return trip or travellers stopping off the A9 for the first time, the Highland Chocolatier offers something few places can: an experience shaped by decades of genuine craftsmanship, a team personally invested in making every visit count, and a setting that could only exist here, in the Scottish Highlands.
